Mary Beth (Richardson) Halcomb, known as "Mary B" to her family and friends, died from ovarian cancer at home in Avon, Ind. on June 30, 2014. Mary was 54 years old. Born to Donald R. and Clara J. (Gibbs) Richardson on January 24, 1960, in Brownsburg, Ind., Mary was one of 12 children. Mary is mother to James Masten, Minneapolis, and was married to Charles Anthony "Tony" Halcomb on Sept. 29th, 1990. Tony was by her side when she passed. Mary attended St. Malachy School and Brownsburg High School. She worked with Busy Bee Cleaning Services and was a professional painter. A natural humorist, she performed stand up comedy in the Indianapolis area and enjoyed gardening. Mary was a member of the Brownsburg American Legion Woman's Auxiliary and was honorably discharged from the US Air Force. Mary is survived by her husband, Tony; son, James Masten; mother, Clara; sisters, Cathy Cooley, Debbie Robidoux, and Cheryl Smith; and brothers, James "Tom," Greg, Roch, Tim, Jeff, Matt, and Anthony Richardson. Mary has numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, who affectionately called her "Aunt Pockets." She was cared for and supported in her final days by close friends Tonya Schreier, Lynne Shipp, Kimmie Sue Fruchtnicht, Ambyr and Lori Tunny and Suzette Corradi, as well as loving family members including Cheryl Smith, Tammy, Debbie, and Patty Richardson, Debbie Robidoux and many more. Preceded in death by her father, Donald; brother, Jeffrey John; two nephews: Seth and Andrew; and both sets of grandparents. Services for Mary will be held at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway, 2950 High School Road, Speedway, Ind., with visitation on Wednesday, July 2, from 4 - 8 p.m., and Thursday, July 3, from 10-11a.m. The service will begin Thursday at 11a.m. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent Hospice or OVAR Coming Together. Friends are invited to leave online condolences for the family by signing Mary's guestbook.
