Mary Antoinette “Toni” Steuby, 80, of Greenwood, IN and previously St. Louis, Mo, passed away on November 2, 2022. Mary led a life caring for her five children and fifteen grandchildren. She loved singing, sewing, fishing and gardening. Mary was born on January 21, 1942, to Jane and Joseph Warfel in Columbus, Indiana. She spent many years in St. Louis caring for her children, singing in the Our Lady of Lourdes choir and making friends through her children’s many activities. In 1998, Mary moved back to Indiana where she would meet her husband, Larry McQueary. It was in Indiana that she enjoyed her retirement. Mary was predeceased by her parents Jane and Joseph Warfel, brother Edward and grandson Stephen Finney. She is survived by her husband Larry McQueary, her brothers Joe and Dan Warfel, Jack Steuby, the father of her children, her children John Steuby Jr., Mary Scofield (Reid), Alice Wetzel (Dan), Christina Frazier (Chad), and Joan Finney (Dan.) Her grandchildren Henry, George and Charlotte Steuby, Katherine, Lauren and Caroline Scofield, Cecilia, Emma and Bisia Wetzel, Jake, Cade and Hannah Frazier and Jack and Adele Finney. A Funeral Mass will be held December 20, 2022, 10am, at Saint Jude’s Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Rd., Indianapolis, IN. A viewing will be held before Mass at 9am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Sisters of St. Benedict, Monastery Immaculate Conception, 802 E. 10th St., Ferdinand, IN 47532, a cause that was very dear to Mary’s heart.
