Mary Ann Therese Tolan

Mary Ann Therese Tolan of Westfield left us on June 27, 2021 to make her way to Heaven where she could take her place with the angels that she so much mirrored in her time on earth. She was born October 3, 1944, in Indianapolis, the daughter of the late Frank J. Sr. and Elizabeth J. (Jonas) Schussler. On January 9, 1965, she married George W. Tolan, Jr. He preceded her in passing on September 8, 2020, after 55 years of marriage.

For Frank and Betty, she was an attentive daughter that loved and cared for them. With George, it was a very brief courtship that forged a love and honor filled 55-year marriage together. Her friends will remember her joyous company, loving and charitable nature, plus those legendary Christmas Eve parties. As a mother, she will be remembered in an angelic appreciation for her warmth, limitless love, and support. She was one proud grandma and cherished time spoiling her grandchildren. As for her career, she worked for Indiana Bell for 33 years before retiring in 1999. In addition to all those things, she was a devout catholic active with St. Maria Goretti Church.

She is survived by two sons, Brian (Dawn) Tolan and Andrew (Danielle) Tolan; brother, Frank J. (Dorothy) Schussler, Jr.; several grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in passing by three siblings, Robert Schussler, Rosa Lewis, and Mark Schussler.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park, 4180 Westfield Road, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Road.
