Mary A. Vestal

Mary Alice (Redenbaugh) Vestal 87, of Indianapolis, In passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015. She was a retiree of LaRue D. Carter Memorial Hospital and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was born on November 21, 1927 in Coral Gables, Florida to Claude and Christa Redenbaugh. When she was at the age of 3 the family moved to Indiana where she grew up in the town of Kingman, Indiana. In 1942 the family moved to Indianapolis and she graduated from Shortridge High School. She loved to sing and sang in many choirs, including the Indianapolis concert choir, Indianapolis Symphony Choir, and church choir. Mary is survived by son, William R. "Bill" Vestal; daughter, Christine "Tina" Kind; grandson, Brian Lee Green; sisters, Margaret Tague and Martha Lee (John); brother, Richard Redenbaugh (Anna); many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Mary Bell Vestal. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Vestal; brother, Robert Redenbaugh; half sister, Helen Springer. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-7:00pm Wednesday, July 15, 2015 and Funeral Service Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 10:00am in Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis. Entombment will be held in Washington Park East Cemetery.
