Marvin Lay

Marvin Lay age 90 of Camby, Indiana died November 29, 2022. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church for many decades. He was the son of Peter C. and Rosa J. Lay from Sullivan, Indiana. He graduated from Sullivan High School in 1950. He retired from Allison as a stationary engineer powerhouse in Indianapolis after 40 plus years. He was a Committeeman for 3 years and Financial Secretary for 2 years at the UAW Local 933. Marv and his wife of 52 years, Fran, loved to travel and visited all 50 states, Mexico, Canada, 10 Countries in Europe, and many of the Caribbean Islands. Marv and Fran wintered in St. Petersburg, Florida for 23 years. He was a proud member of the Democratic Club for many decades. Marv enjoyed hunting and fishing and taught all his grandchildren how to fish. Marv was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Fran, his brothers, Frank, Marion, Clifford, Lloyd, his sister, Norma Haught, and his sister-in-law, Rena Lay. He is survived by his children, Mark (Nancy) Lay, Brenda (Andy) Littrell, Chuck (Michelle) Lay, John (Pam) Lay, grandchildren, Nick and Sam Littrell, Courtney and Mikayla Lay, Alyssa, JJ and Ashley Lay, the triplets, Elizabeth, Jessica, William Lay, and five brothers-in-law. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township 5463 Kentucky Ave. Indianapolis, Indiana 46221. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, 11:00am at St. Ann Catholic Church 6350 S. Mooresville Road with visitation there from 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
