Marvin J. Philips
89, Indianapolis, IN passed away August 6, 2012. Marvin served in the U S Army during WW II and received his BFA and MFA Degrees from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, PA. He began his career as Technical Director at Indiana University School of Music and Opera Productions and retired from teaching at Morehead State University in Morehead, KY. He is a member of Irvington Presbyterian Church and Ft. Hawkins Masonic Lodge in Macon, GA. Marvin is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (Emmit) Philips, they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this past Valentine's Day. Also surviving, children, Victoria Meyer, Norman (Millie) Philips, Audrey (Brian) Cunningham and Nadine (Eric) Hale; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, August, 10, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the funeral center. Entombment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
