Marvin D. Abney

81 years old of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on March 8, 2016. Marvin was born on April 22, 1934 to parents, Albert Leonard and Mattie Lou (Burdette) Abney. He graduated from Tech High School and went on to own Abney Masonry, Inc. He enjoyed all sports, especially racing and UofK basketball. He was an avid fan of Jeff Gordon, and he himself was a champion of the Kitley Speedrome in 1958.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife of nearly 64 years, Virginia Mae (Snider) Abney; children: Brenda Turner (Elmer), Jerry Abney, Diana Holly (Jim) and Jeff Abney (Audra); grandchildren: Drew, Colton and Josiah; great-grandchildren: Legend, Kennedy and Karlee; brother, William Bennett and sister, Connie Sue Turner (Eddie). He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Hannah.
