Marvell "Moe" M. Coffin

Marvell “Moe” Coffin, age 63 of Oaklandon, Indiana passed away on Friday morning, December 15, 2023 at his residence.

Moe was born on August 6, 1960 in Livingston, Tennessee, a son of David Keith and Mary Joyce (Brown) Coffin.

He is survived by his four children: Heather Foncannon of Ingalls, Indiana, Candice Coffin of Ingalls, Indiana, Matthew Coffin, and Jamie (husband Justin) June of McCordsville, Indiana.

Ten grandchildren: Sierra, Calix, Cullan, Owen, Jack, Noah, Ella, Micah, Jacob and Lennon.

Siblings: Mary Frances (husband Scott) Tutorow and Bonnie Hurley. Donald Garrett (brother in law) and Teri Coffin (sister in law).

He is survived by 11 Nieces and Nephews and 12 Great Nieces and Nephews.

Many other family members and relatives survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above, and siblings: Sheila Garrett and David Coffin.

Moe grew up in Oaklandon, Indiana. He attended Lawrence North High School and was in the first graduating class of Lawrence North, class of 1978.

After high school he went right into the workforce driving a truck for Nationwide Auto as well as owning his own lawn care service, Coffin Lawn Care. He retired from the Union of Operating Engineers Local 103 in 2022.

In his earlier years he was an athlete and an avid sportsman. He greatly enjoyed watching sports. He was always up for a good bet, trip to the casino, or a round of golf. He loved visiting his grandchildren. Moe loved his family. He was an extremely hard worker and will always be remembered for his giving heart. He loved to joke around and tease the people he loved most. Moe always said “Remember, be good, or be good at it.”
