Martha Lucille Lord

86, of Indianapolis, passed away May 26, 2020. She was born on October 31, 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana as the daughter of John and Martha Stalcup.

After graduating high school Martha married the love of her life, Larry Lord. The two wed on June 20, 1952 and spent the next 60 years together until Larry passed in 2012. Martha and Larry raised 4 children together; Steve, Leslie, Scott, and John. She also worked in the gift shop at Community East Hospital for 20 years. In her spare time, Martha enjoyed: painting, word searches, and traveling. She was a member of the Linwood Christian Church and Sigma Alpha Chi Sorority. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Martha is survived by her children: Steve (Lorri) Lord, Leslie (John) Dalton, Scott (Jeanette) Lord, John (Christy) Lord; grandchildren: Meredith, Fritz, Natalee, Stephanie, Abby, Katie, Jared, Logan, Zoey, Joe, Jake; and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Larry.

The family will be holding private graveside services at Washington Park East Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
