Martha C. King Martha passed away on May 2, 2014 at Clearvista Lake Health Care Campus. She was born June 20, 1918 in Columbus, Ohio to Charles & Emma Medert. Martha was the youngest of 4 children. Her siblings; Warren Medert, Thelma Johnson, and Juanita Lust preceded her in death. Martha attended South High in Columbus, Ohio. She married Earl V. King on September 16, 1939. Earl died May 2003 at the age of 89. Martha and Earl lived in Columbus, Ohio after their wedding. Son, Ross and daughter, Janice, were born in Columbus. They moved to Indianapolis, IN in 1948 where daughter Jeanette was born. Martha worked in the family business several years and later at Roselyn Bakery for 20 years. She was active in Christ Presbyterian Church (formerly Prentice). She and Earl joined the church in 1950 and she served on Deacons board and for several years as chairperson of Prime Time. Martha lived in the same home from 1957 until moving to Berkshire Assisted Living in Aug. 2012. Family was the cornerstone for Martha as she dearly loved to spend time with all family members. She made friends wherever she went. It was often said of her, "She was a gentle woman, always friendly and ready to listen to your story." Martha is survived by son Ross (Beth) King, daughter Janice(Mark)Dahlstrom and daughter Jeanette(Joe) Abramo; grandchildren Brian(JoEllen) King, Greg(Marissa) King, Andy(Sally) King, Leanne(Heather) Abramo & Amy Abramo; and 3 step grandchildren. Her great grandchildren are Jessica King, Erin King, Emily King, Nicholas King, Hugh Abramo, Justin King & Isabel King as well as 9 step great grandchildren. Calling will be from 4 -7 PM on Monday, May 5th , 2014 at Christ Presbyterian Church (79th and Carroll Rd.), McCordsville, IN. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 with calling 1 hour before the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church.
