Martha A. "Marty" Morris Osterhous, a beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted nurse, passed away on October 12, 2025, in Zionsville, Indiana, surrounded by the warmth of her cherished memories and faith. Born on May 12, 1937, in Lafayette, Indiana, Marty lived a life full of compassion and dedication, always prioritizing the well-being of others.

As a devoted nurse, Marty embarked on a remarkable career that took her to various esteemed institutions, including Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, and both Germantown, Pennsylvania, and Veteran's and Methodist Hospitals in Indianapolis. Her commitment to caring for others extended beyond traditional nursing roles, as she also provided private duty nursing with unmatched compassion and skill.

Marty's nurturing spirit was not limited to her professional life. She embraced life with a joyful heart, especially through her love of dogs, who were dear companions throughout her journey. As the consummate hostess, she transformed holidays and birthdays into unforgettable celebrations, always adding thoughtful touches that made her friends and family feel extra special. Marty cultivated an inviting environment where laughter filled the air and cherished memories were created.

She graduated from Richland Township High School in 1955 and completed her nursing degree at Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1958, setting the stage for a lifelong career dedicated to caring for others. Her fiercely loyal heart shone brightly in her unwavering support for her daughters and granddaughters, guiding them every step of the way in achieving their dreams and aspirations. Marty set a profound example of what it means to live a life rooted in love, faith, and service as she spent meaningful moments with loved ones.

Marty was actively involved in numerous clubs and organizations, embracing opportunities to connect with others. Her passion for service led her to be a proud member of Tri-Kappa, Methodist Hospital Task Core, Business and Professional Women, and several antique car clubs. Additionally, she found a spiritual home at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, where her faith furthered her commitment to caring for and uplifting others.

In her final days, Marty was enveloped in love and care from dedicated caregivers Jackie, Jeanette, and Maurisa, whose compassion ensured her comfort while she transitioned from this earthly realm into the arms of Jesus.

Marty leaves behind her loving daughters, Helen (Mike) Adams and Elizabeth (Glen) Fuller, who carry her spirit with them. She cherished her granddaughters, Katherine Adams, Ava Fuller, and Isabella Fuller, who illuminated her life with their joy and laughter.
