Marsha Condre

January 21, 1950 — December 25, 2025

Camby, IN

Marsha Condre, a radiant spirit beloved by many, returned to her heavenly home on December 25, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on January 21, 1950, in Scottsburg, Indiana, as the only girl raised among three brothers, Marsha's journey through life was marked by her humor, wit and a profound love for her family. The close bond she had with her brothers, Gunner, Terry, Mike Condre and the love in their families, is a testament to the importance of family that their beloved mother instilled in them.

Marsha’s impressive mind was evident from a young age, when her strong reading ability led her teachers to advance her a grade level to keep up with her intellect. Her talent to memorize and retain information served her well in her nearly 29 year career at the United States Postal Service, where she had to memorize city zip codes in Indiana. In passing conversation about a city, Marsha would quickly rattle off the 5 digit zip code, whether anyone was asking or not. However, Marsha would wish to be remembered not by the hours she worked, but by the deep and cherished relationships that sustained her during those years.

Above all, Marsha's favorite occupation was raising her children, Michael Brett and Mandy Lynne. Her children are grateful she chose to be a stay at home mom for many years before working full time. Her son Brett has fond memories of her rocking him for hours in her wooden chair and listening to her sing Beatles songs to him on the record player while he would fall asleep in her arms. They enjoyed watching movies together and may have watched every black and white movie ever made. They used to recite lines to each other remembering their favorite parts of movies and each would instantly recognize which movie the lines were from. But most of all, he will remember her as being his longest and best friend on top of being the greatest mother.

Some say parents should be a parent first to their kids, then they become friends when they are adults. But for Mandy, she only remembers her mom as a friend. Mandy's friends became Marsha's friends and she created amazing memories for them. There was not a time in her daughter's life that she felt an obstacle was too big to overcome because her mother always assured her there was a way to resolve it.

Later in life, Marsha would often say that she didn’t think she could love anything more than her children, until she became a grandma. She loved watching and living experiences with her grandkids as they grew to become teenagers. She was a proud grandmother of Avery, Owen and Jackson Gilbert, cheering them on in all their endeavors. Marsha was also blessed with 2 bonus grandchildren, Calla and Kai Quinlin. Marsha enjoyed how close their relationships were and how they felt comfortable sharing their lives with her over the years.

Her laughter and bright spirit were infectious, drawing people in and creating bonds that would last a lifetime. Marsha loved working in her yard, catching up with old high school friends and truly loved life before the passing of her mother and being stricken with cancer. Her family would like to sincerely thank the hospice team at Paradigm for assisting during this painful time in their lives (Susan, Michelle, Rena, Meagan, Lezley and Chaplain Lynn) and the love and care they showed their mother. Also the aides that assisted in her final week from Home Instead. Her son is thankful he was able to move in and care for her during her time of need and her daughter was able to spend some last moments with her mother. Her children take great comfort in remembering the many times she'd say, “I just want you to know that if anything ever happens to me, know that I lived a happy life." Her last act on earth was leading her son to Jesus, something she expressed a desire for in recent years. God blessed her final Christmas morning on earth with her loving son by her side, then welcomed into the presence of her Savior and embraced once again by her dear mother, Neva. God's timing was perfect.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Marsha is survived by her loving children, Michael Brett Sullivan and Mandy Gilbert, along with her son-in-law, Rodney Gilbert, and her grandchildren, Avery, Owen, and Jackson. She also leaves behind her brothers Gunner (Leslie) Condre, Terry Condre and Michael (Pam) Condre. Preceding her in death were her parents, Neva and Luther "Rich" Condre.

Family and friends are invited to gather in her memory. Visitation will be held on January 4, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Speedway, with a graveside service to take place at Washington Park North at 2:00 PM that same day.

Marsha Condre’s legacy of love, laughter, and happiness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
