Marlene M. Morris

Marlene May Morris, 52, of Indianapolis Indiana, passed away on May 4, 2023. She was born on May 24, 1970, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents, Charles J.M Cottongim and Julia A. (Lytle) Cottongim.

Marlene spent the majority of her life caring for children. First it was her little cousins, then her own children, friends’ children and finally, her precious grandchildren. Her life was made up of being a wife, a mom, a mamaw, a sister, a daughter, and a great friend. She loved spending time at the lake, being with friends and family, and watching movies. She was smart, funny, feisty, understanding, helpful, and kind. Marlene was really special.

Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Jon Morris; children, Elisha Bullock, Zachery Morris and Kyle Morris; mother, Julia Cottongim; siblings, Carey Cottongim, Marty Cottongim, and Tina Littrell; and 10 grandchildren, Lauren, Skyleigh, Landon, Amaiyah, Leighton, Lillian, Logan, Trenton, Kendrick, and Irelyn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles J.M Cottongim.

Visitation for Marlene will be from 10am-1pm on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East – 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229, with a funeral service immediately following at 1pm. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
