Indianapolis, Indiana

Marlene A. King, age 61 went to be with her Lord on March 19th, 2023. She was born January 4th, 1962, to Frank E. and Irene E. (Lambert) Whitacre. She is survived by her husband Stephen King, her son Philip D. Brewer (Daria) stepchildren, Skyler (Ellie), Roberta, and Zackary. Her sister Dorene E. Whitacre, Brothers Raymond L. Whitacre, Kenneth E. Craig (Sally), Ronald D. Craig (Torchy) and James D. Whitacre (Debbie), her twelve grandchildren Kameyia, Tishara, Asante, Kree, Kashtun, Raylan, Liam, and Wyatt, are just some of them, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Frank A. Whitacre (Marie). Marlene was employed by Duke Energy as Senior work Management Specialist. She dedicated 19 years and 10 months to her job. She was a graduate of Ivy Tech College and a 1980 graduate of Waldron high school. Her passions were her faith in God, family, and her grandchildren. Marlene enjoyed crocheting, celebrating holidays, Christmas most of all, and traveling. She also enjoyed arts crafts, festivals and attending her grandchildren sports event. Marlene had an unwavering faith in God and never missed a moment to express her love for the Lord and her family. She is loved by a lot of people, and she will truly be missed. The family is planning a Celebration of Life Service in the near future so please check back for the day and time for the service.
