Mark Vernon Lange, of Portland, Oregon, died unexpectedly in his home on September 3, 2015 at the age of 57.
Mark is survived by his parents, his children, Michael and Kendra, his sister, Linda Kennedy, her husband, Tim Kennedy, and Tim and Linda's children, Ryan, Kyle and Molly Kennedy.
Mark was born in Ohio on April 9, 1958 to Vernon and Sona Lange. He was raised in Indianapolis, IN where he attended Lawrence Central High School and Indiana University. Following his passion for cooking, Mark went on to attend Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon. Mark ultimately settled in Portland where he enjoyed working as a chef and made many enduring friendships along the way. Mark was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed all Oregon had to offer, from Mt. Hood to the Oregon coast and everything in between. He enjoyed photography, exploring small town festivals and parades, antiquing, classic films, history (especially JFK) and truly enjoyed wonderful conversation and coffee.
Mark will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Mark will be laid to rest with his family in Indianapolis, IN. A memorial service is scheduled for September 26, 2015, at Flanner and Buchanan- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN. Calling will be held from 1 – 2pm with a memorial service to follow.
