Marjorie V. White

Marjorie "Margie" Virginia White Anouncing the passing of Marjorie (Margie) Virginia White at 12:35am December 24th, 2013. Marjorie was 93 years old and resided at Brownsburg Healthcare, in Brownsburg Indiana. Marjorie was born on September 21, 1919 in East St. Louis, Missouri. Her parents were Audrey Basil and Ruthie May Cowgill and sister Mildred. At age 8, her family relocated to Indianapolis. Marjorie attended the ninth grade at Washington High School, but couldn't continue because her family couldn't afford books, boots or a coat for the mile walk to school. As a consolation, her mother purchased a used piano for $1.00 and Marjorie taught herself to play. At age 9, Marjorie accepted Jesus and began attending Woodworth-Etter Tabernacle in West Indianapolis and soon after, became the pianist for the church pastored by Thomas Paino Senior. She also did missionary work in Brooksville, Kentucky. The church moved to I-465 and Rockville Road and is now Lakeview Church. Marjorie was the church pianist for over 50 years. Marjorie and Harry Emmett White were married for 56 years before Harry passed in 2002. Her family consists of one son Larry White his wife Janice, three grand-children, and four great grandchildren. There will be a private service at Flanner and Buchanan - Speedway on Friday, Dec. 28. The family would like to especially thank the staff of Brownsburg Healthcare for the years of loving care they provided for Marjorie.
