Marjorie Violet (Hicks) Reed 91, of Indianapolis, passed away and slipped into an eternal sleep on March 14, 2011. Marjorie was born on July 21, 1919 to Roy and Anna Hicks in Napoleon, Indiana. Marjorie was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge for over 50 years, a member of Delta Sigma Kappa Social Sorority, Member and secretary for the Wannamaker Homemaker Club, a longtime member of the New Bethel Baptist Church located in Wannamaker, IN, and she was a loving and understanding woman who kept her family in line. Marjorie is survived by brother, John Hicks; sons, Mark Reed, Richard (Sherry) Reed, John (Sarah) Reed; grandchildren, Rebecca Larson, Sarah Reed, Lindsey Compton, Emily Puntenney; and 2 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Robert E. Reed; parents; sisters, Belle King, Christine Smith, Ruth Martin; and brother, Vern Hicks. Visitation for Marjorie will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2011, from 1-5 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, a funeral service will be held Monday, March 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the funeral center. Entombment will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
