Marjorie Ann Maloney

Marjorie Ann Maloney passed away on April 6, 2012, at the age of 86. Born on April 27, 1925 to Garvin and Inez Brown in Indianapolis, Marjorie graduated from Shortridge High School in 1943. During World War II, she volunteered with the USO. After the war, she married Army Air Force veteran William Maloney on July 3, 1947. They raised two children, Debra Sue and Timothy, at their home in Speedway. During her adult life, Marjorie was a mother, housewife, and worked outside the home, mostly in retail. After her marriage she worked at LS Ayres & Co., W.H. Block & Co., and later managed Roth's, a women's clothing store. Marjorie loved playing cards, traveling, eating out, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother and wife, and beloved by her family and friends. She was a big fan of the classic variety shows of the early television era – Milton Berle, Dean Martin, Red Skelton, and Carol Burnett. Marjorie is survived by her husband, William John Maloney, her children Debbie (Dan Fox) of Columbus, IN, and Tim (Debbie Adams) of Nashville, IN, her sisters Lenore Ellis of Las Vegas, NV, and Betty Piccione of Indianapolis, and her grandson Aaron Fox of San Francisco, CA. A memorial service will be held 6:00 P.M. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park, Indianapolis.
