Marion Ruth (Edwards) Poehler, 76, of Indianapolis, left this world softly after a lengthy illness on March 15, 2012. She was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Marion was born on February 9, 1936 to Julian and Marion(Colvin) Edwards, who preceded her in death. She attended Arsenal Technical High School and was the face of Hooks Antique Drugstore at the fairgrounds for many years. She was a world traveler with her husband of 50 years, Ronald "Dutch" Poehler, living in Holland, travelling throughout Europe, and living in Arizona before settling in Indianapolis. She made lifelong friends during her travels and enjoyed beach vacations with Dutch, her sister Cathy, brother-in-law Bill and family. Survivors include her loving brothers and sisters, Nela(late Thomas) Beetem, Jackson(Judy) Edwards, and Cathy(Bill)Miller; beloved aunt, Ruth Hawkins, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, "Dutch", and brother, Jon Stuart Edwards. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street. Burial to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 2-6 PM at the funeral home. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
