Marion Floyd Slinker
75, of Indianapolis, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 28, 2015. Floyd was born in Bradfordsville, KY to Manuel and Mary Jane Slinker on July 20, 1939. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After service, he worked as an electrician for AmTrak for 38 years, retiring in 2001. He loved helping his family with projects, fishing, watching the Andy Griffith Show and was known as a practical joker who loved teasing his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Holt Slinker, daughters Sherrie Vaughan, Tina Warden, Patricia Steele, two brothers Charles and Joe Slinker, two sisters Denise Brown and Margaret Slinker, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday from 4-8pm at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Floral Park, with services Saturday at 10am in the funeral center. Burial will follow the services in Floral Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Floyd's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
