Marilyn S. Tackett-Jett

Marilyn Sue Tackett-Jett age 87 of Oaklandon, IN passed away August 9Th 2026.

Born November 16, 1938 to John & Florence Richards of Scranton, PA

Marilyn lived a busy life, a homemaker when her boys were young,co-founder/co-owner of Tacketts Cleaning Service when her sons were teens for several years. Her passion for helping others led her to a career in nursing, she was a CNA until retirement.

Marilyn enjoyed spending time with family, spoiling her grandchildren through each milestone, celebration, & accomplishment.

Marilyn was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses

She is survived by her sons Bob Tackett (Tammy) of Indianapolis, Jerry Tackett (Michelle) of Fortville. Leland Tackett (Caron) of Fortville, 7 Grandchildren Albert (Katie) Josie Tackett, Casandra Tackett Jacobs, Jessica Tackett Tinsman (Aaron), Dylan Tackett (Amy), Dustin Tackett (Ellen), Drake Tackett (Samantha) and 10 Great Grandchildren Elliott, Dean, Adrian, Macoy, Dane, Lee, Wren, Beau, Otto, & Colt

She was preceded in death by her parents John & Florence Richards, Brothers John & Jimmy Richards of Scranton PA, Sister Lilly Douglas of Portland OR & Husbands Tommy Jessie Jett, & David Byrne.

A memorial gathering will be held in Marilyn's honor 5-7pm Monday August 24th, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East Funeral Center.
