Marilyn Kay Willis, 78, of New Palestine, passed away on January 14, 2019.
Marilyn was born on November 28, 1940 in Indianapolis, to the late James and Juanita Burcham. Marilyn married the love of her life, Franklin Willis in 1956, and they shared 62 years together. She was a devoted wife and mother, while Franklin was serving his country in the United States Air Force, she supported her family by maintaining the household and raising their 4 sons. Once her children were older, Marilyn began a career in collections. She worked for several companies and retired from Simon after many years of dedicated service. Marilyn was very artistic and enjoyed ceramics, quilting and working with her hands, she was kind and compassionate and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Franklin Willis; sons, Anthony (Beth) Willis, Jeffrey (Tanya) Willis, and Franklin Willis; grandchildren, Bryan (Deanna) Willis, Kyle Willis, Jodi (Aaron) Rogers, Stephanie Willis, Hanna Willis, and Chad Willis; along with many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ralph Willis; and siblings, Robert Burcham, Donola Orr, Shirley Huber, Larry Burcham, and James Burcham.
Friends and family are invited to gather from 1:00-3:00pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 with a memorial service to follow at 3:00pm at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East.
