MarilynJean Rodgers of Richmond passed peacefully on Feb 15, surrounded by family thatloved her deeply. She was 83. Marilyn had been fighting a long battle withAlzheimer's Disease.
Marilyn is survived bydaughter Daphne and her husband Michael, granddaughter Brittany and her husbandShawn, grandson Joshua and his wife Andrea, great-grandson Israel,great-grandson Lennon, extended family and many nieces and nephews and theirfamilies.Marilyn is the last of hergeneration from her original family and is the second oldest of the children ofCharles F. and Hazel E. Carroll. Marilyn is preceded in death by her belovedparents and brothers and sisters: Marguerite Bradshaw, Bud Carroll, MaxineStover, Charles E. Carroll and Betty Lou Daugherty.
Marilyn worked at FirstNational Bank of Richmond Indiana, where she and Ron Rodgers met. Marilyn andRon were married by Calvary Baptist Church and later had daughter Daphne. Whenher daughter was born, Marilyn became a housewife and mother and later adopteda dearly loved dachshund named Heidi. She was strong and independent and wasfond of keeping her house and life in order. Marilyn was truly a sweetheart whohelped many of those in need and was loved by many.
Marilyn was taken byAlzheimer’s Disease and it appears that it may run in families; it hascertainly touched many of ours. Please become familiar with the signs andsymptoms and be sure to have family members tested at first sign. There arethings that can help if you have it.
