Marilyn J. Korfhage

Marilyn J. Korfhage, 89, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on June 13, 2023. She was born on August 19, 1933, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to parents, Cecil Turpin and Mary (Heldman) Turpin.

Marilyn retired from Navistar/International in 1988 as executive secretary to the Plant Manager. She and her late husband, LeRoy owned/operated Porcelain by Marilyn in Greenfield, IN until 1996. She and Roy moved to Sarasota, FL where they enjoyed retirement together before the passing of LeRoy in 2009. During her retirement years Marilyn’s love for dolls lead her to starting a new business at home where she was a Doll Doctor. Marilyn spent many hours restoring these dolls back to a beautiful state. Many people reached out to Marilyn for across the United States to have their dolls restored. Marilyn and Roy enjoyed cooking together, playing cards and games and hosting their many friends that would visit them throughout their retirement years together.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Leroy F. Korfhage; parents, Cecil and Mary Turpin; brothers, Ronald and Wayne Turpin; and niece, Lisa Turpin O’Neil.

Marilyn is survived by her niece, Mary (John) Kuczera of Champaign, IL; great nephews, Kalin (Deborah) Richardson of Buffalo Grove, IL, and Trent (Lauren) Richardson of Monticello, IL; great nieces, Shannon O’Neil, Keene, NH, Emilee Kuczera, Glendale Heights, IL, and her niece’s husband, Patrick O’Neil, Loxahatchee, FL. Marilyn leaves behind her precious dog, Little Girl, who filled her heart with much laughter and love after the loss of her husband, LeRoy.

Visitation for Marilyn will be from 10am – 12pm, on Friday, June 30, 2023, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church – 6944 E. 46th St., Lawrence, IN 46226, with a funeral mass immediately following at 12pm. Entombment will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
