Marilyn Jean Englerth, 93, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026. She was born on May 4, 1933 in New Albany, Indiana.
Marilyn was married to the love of her life, Charles Englerth for 50 wonderful years. Together they loved to travel, exploring new places and making memories along the way. She loved to sew and enjoyed making clothing for her children and grandchildren. Marilyn loved to bake and her delicious baked goods brought warmth and sweetness to many family gatherings. She was especially proud of her Irish heritage and carried that connection with her throughout her life. Above all, Marilyn’s greatest love was her family. She treasured every moment spent with them and especially adored her grandchildren. Her love for her family and the memories she made with those she loved will be treasured for years to come.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Anna Schmidt; her brother Don Schmidt; and her beloved husband Charles Englerth. She is survived by her sister Sue Ann Greiner; daughters Ann (Kevin) Cousert, Eileen (Gary) Kahl; grandchildren Christopher (Erin) Cousert, Vince Kahl, Matt (Liza) Kahl, Natalie (Will) Lerums; and great-grandchildren Roman, Joanie, and Booker.
Visitation for Marilyn will take place on Tuesday September 15, 2026, from 10:30am-12:00pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 5333 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46219. Funeral mass will follow at 12:00pm. Marilyn will then be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Indianapolis Humane Society.
