Marilyn A. Combs (Johnson)

Marilyn Ann Combs, 74, of Indianapolis Indiana, passed away on June 2, 2023. She was born on September 7, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents, David Johnson and Margaret (Jivanelli) Johnson.

Marilyn graduated from Arsenal Tech in 1966. She retired from BMG, formally RCA, after many years in customer service. After retirement, she worked part time at Southside Harley Davidson and later, Centra Credit Union. Marilyn enjoyed traveling, going on cruises and getting dressed up to go out with friends. She frequently visited Vero Beach, Fort Myers, the Hamptons and Humarock Beach to visit family and friends. She loved the beach, ocean, and dolphins. Marilyn spent her free time in the summer soaking up the sun and swimming with either her friends, daughter or her grandchildren. She was a fan of disco and Elvis and also had a passion for crocheting. Marilyn cherished all of her pets over the years, especially her dogs, Diamond, Gracie and Roxy. Marilyn adored her grandchildren and liked to take her granddaughter to Beef and Boards, shopping or to eat at the Steer-Inn. She was so proud of her grandson for his service in the United States Air Force and frequently sent him cards.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Angela (Michael) Billingsley; grandchildren, Calista Billingsley and Cameron Billingsley; siblings, David Johnson and William (Becky) Wallace; long-time friend, Cheryl Creech and many other beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Margaret Johnson; and sister, Carol Stone.

Visitation for Marilyn will be from 12pm-2pm on Monday, June 12, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East – 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229, with a funeral service immediately following at 2pm. Entombment will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
