Marilou Hey

Marilou Hey, 78, of Indianapolis, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on June 17, 2026. She was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on July 19, 1947, to the late Charles and Mary Binkey.

Marilou was devoted to her family above all, and her life was defined by compassion and service. After retiring as a systems accountant for DFAS (Defense Finance and Accounting Service), she served as a caregiver for her husband until his passing.

As she healed from the loss of her own spouse, she found purpose in helping others walk the same difficult road. For several years, she served as a GriefShare facilitator at Outlook Christian Church, where she was a member, walking alongside countless individuals through seasons of loss. Her gentle presence, listening ear, and words of encouragement brought comfort to many who felt alone in their grief — a calling that became one of the most meaningful chapters of her life.

Marilou's faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived it daily—whether through a warm smile, a helping hand, or a prayer whispered in quiet moments, she reflected Christ's love in all she did. In her most challenging times, she leaned on "faith over fear."

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the Walker Place staff for the extraordinary care and friendship they provided to Marilou. Your tireless dedication, warm smiles, and unwavering support eased our hearts and brightened her days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hey and her brother, Edward Binkey.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Beth) Hey Jr., James (Tim) Hey, Kimberly Maffei and Jennifer (Paul) Stamm; grandchildren, Ashton (Cade) Caton, Sydnee (Taylor) Dwyer, Karlee (Logan) Cares, Hayley (Jacob) Hook, Madison Hey, Mackenzie (Steven) Stamm-Denton, and Lauron (Daylon) Brewer; and 9 great grandchildren.

A celebration of Marilou's life will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Geist on Saturday, July 18, with visitation at 11 a.m., service at noon, and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W 96th St Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
