Marianne Kirkhoff

Marianne Kirkhoff, 91, of Indianapolis, went home to be with her Lord July 16, 2023. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on May 30, 1932 to Herbert P. Lee and Mary Marguerite (Tex) Lee. She married George Francis Kirkhoff, Jr. on April 6, 1953 and was a devoted and loving wife to him for over 70 years.

Marianne truly enjoyed her volunteer work for many years at Christ the King Parish and at the Speech and Hearing Center. She enjoyed cooking for large crowds, having parties, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Some of her favorite things to do included playing bridge and euchre, golfing, bowling, traveling, camping, and photography. She was a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout den leader, and Eucharistic Minister.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert P. Lee and Mary Marguerite (Tex) Lee, brothers John, Tom, and Michael Lee, sister Patricia Mattick, son-in-law Rick Havens, and grandson Richie Havens.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, George Kirkhoff, children: Patsy Havens, George Kirkhoff III (Mary Ann), Joan Brown (Mike), Susan Sweezy (John), and Jim Kirkhoff; 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday July 19th at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis. A Rosary service will begin there at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue Thursday, July 20th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5884 Crittenden Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. The eulogy will begin there at 10:30 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 AM.
