Celebration of Life
Maria Joann Stotts, 94, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on February 19, 2026. She was born on March 9, 1931, in Elkhart, Indiana, to parents, Danato Bilancio and Antonia (Vacco) Bilancio.
Maria spent many years as a manicurist at the downtown Athletic Club in Indianapolis as well as other locations around the city. Maria also worked at the Italian Village Restaurant alongside her children and ex-husband, John Macri.
Maria was an avid crocheter. She won 1st place ribbons at the state fair for her rugs and tapestries. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, decorating her many apartments and caring for her dogs. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc church in Indianapolis, where she donated many of her crocheted items. Those that knew her will remember her for her straightforward nature, resilience and her humor.
Maria is survived by her children, Gina Hayden, Giovanna Macri, Kaitlyn Macri, (Garlene) and Victor Macri; 9 Grandchildren, 8 Great grandchildren and 9 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman L. Stotts; her parents; Danato and Antonia Bilancio: Brothers: Vincent Bilancio, Johnny Bilancio; her daughter Antonia Reiner-Macri; great granddaughter Mayah Sims.
There will be a small Celebration of Life at the Ritz Charles (12156 N. Meridian Street Carmel, IN.) March 28th 1 – 3 p.m.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to American Pain and Disability Foundation.
