Maria M. Kernodle

Maria M. Kernodle, 90 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on March 26, 2023. She was born on July 23, 1932, in Wiesbaden, Germany to the late Karl and Melitta (Krug) Embach. Maria was an Assembler of Telephones at Western Electric for 25 years before retiring. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, keeping a clean house, was a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Maria is survived by her children, Frankie Kernodle, Chuck Kernodle, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, sisters, Hedi Koch, Anne Rücker, Gloria Thompson, and her brother-in-law, Gordon Bell. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Charles V. Kernodle, and her sons, James M., and Jeffrey Lee Kernodle. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, 1:00-300pm with the services following at 3pm. Those individuals unable to attend in person can log into the Live Stream of the service. She will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Riley Children’s Hospital.
