Marguerite “Maggie” Susan (Reed) Riggs, of Zionsville, passed away suddenly on March 22, 2018, at the age of 68. She was born on January 7, 1950, in Waterloo, Iowa, to the late Rev. Craig and Evelyn Reed. Maggie studied at the University of Evansville and prior to retirement was employed as a child welfare case worker in Jasper, Indiana. She was an avid reader, writer, and lover of all things Notre Dame. As a devoted wife, mother and “Mamo”, Maggie’s greatest joy was her family. She created memorable holiday gatherings and enjoyed super-fan status at all of her grandchildren’s varied activities. Miss Maggie’s unique mix of grace, beauty, strong will, spunk and dry humor made her one of a kind.
Maggie is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Dr. Larry Riggs, her sister, Jan Reed, her daughter, Niki (Chris) Finelli, her valued stepsons, and her cherished grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Craig and Evelyn Reed, her beloved son, Brad Hudson, and her prior husband, Wayne Hudson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2018, from 12:00-3:00 pm, with services to immediately follow at Flanner and Buchanan funeral home, at 105 W. Pine St., Zionsville. Burial will take place at Zionsville Cemetery.
