Margie J. Wilcher Whorton 85, passed away peacefully October 18, 2014. Margie was born in Beech Grove, Indiana to the late E.E. and Carrie Harvey. Despite having polio as a toddler, she lived her life with great strength and determination. She battled post polio syndrome her entire adult life with courage. She enjoyed spending time boating at Lake Monroe, traveling, and watching NASCAR races. She was a true Colts and Pacers fan. She also loved playing Euchre with her brothers, watching soap operas, participating in water aerobic classes and taking care of her Dachshunds, Rusty and Rudy. Margie made many friends over the years and will be sadly missed by them all. Margie was a financial accountant for RCA Canadian Finance division before retiring. Margie was a past member of the Eastern Star and Indiana Chapter of American Business Woman's Association. Margie is survived by her loving spouse, Virgil (Bud) Whorton; her children, Michael (Debbie) Wilcher, Leanne (Bill) LaFollette; brother Paul William (Charlotte) Harvey, sister; Betty (Ed) Humphrey, sister in law; Wanda Crabtree; grandchildren; and Julie Wilcher (Chris) Davis. Jeff Wilcher Adrienne (Travis) Merrick; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Margie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald L. Harvey and Sister, Carolyn Lex. Family and Friends may call on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 11:00am-1:00pm with Memorial Service at 1:00pm Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis.
