Margaret Vajen Cubert

Margaret Vajen Cubert, age 94, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2022 at Moultrie Creek Nursing & Rehab Center in St. Augustine, FL. Margaret was born on July 24, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents, Ralph and Katherine (Parrish) Culbertson. She grew up and lived most of her adult life in Indianapolis. She met the love of her life, Oliver Cubert, and married him on January 30, 1953. Margaret raised a family of five children and was a caretaker for many of her family members. She was very reserved but had a heart full of love for others. Much of her life was dedicated to the care of others. After her children were grown, she went to work managing an assisted living apartment complex caring for the residents as if they were her family. After the death of her husband in 1999, Margaret moved to Port Orange, FL in the early 2000’s. She enjoyed reading autobiographies and crocheting in her leisure time. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be missed.

She is survived by daughters, Kathy J Nickoloff and husband Ted of St Augustine, Sue Cubert of Columbus, IN, Sons, William Lee Ellis of Indianapolis, IN, Paul Edward Cubert of Lafayette, IN, Richard Lee Cubert of Palm Coast, FL; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm with visitation from noon on Friday, September 2, 20220 at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
