Margaret Taylor Montagna

April 27, 1940 — January 23, 2026

Carmel, IN

Margaret "Taylor" Montagna, 85, of Carmel was lovingly and peacefully called Home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2026 -- leaving behind a legacy of love, strength and immeasurable devotion to family. She was loved by all who knew her. A devoted wife, beloved Mother, Grandmom and Great Grandmom whose life was defined by her love, compassion and enduring kindness to those she loved and loved her. A cherished friend and a woman whose heart and faith touched family and friends.

She was born April 27, 1940 in West Chester, Pa to the late James and Florence (Dryden) Riedy -- the third of four girls. She is survived by her husband Fred of 57 years, daughter Suzanne (Enoch) Corson, two Grandchildren (Randall and Hannah) and three Greatgrandchildren (Jackson, Carter and Emmett). She was predeceased in death by her son (Wade).

After graduating from West Chester High School in 1959 she worked for Bell Telephone in the Service Observing Bureau, held various positions in Real Estate in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and worked for Firestone Roofing in Carmel. She loved to crochet, knit, do cross stitch, work crossword puzzles and play card/board games -- especially with her family. One of the things she loved the most was walking the beach and collecting sea shells in Siesta Key, Florida. She was a "tough cookie" with the strength of a warrior -- having successfully overcome several serious medical conditions during her lifetime.

To everyone who knew her, Taylor was a source of sincere warmth, kindness, love and understanding. In high school she was known for her sparkling eyes and beautiful smile -- earning her the nickname of "Sunshine". Friends and even complete strangers have often commented about her "million dollar smile".
