Margaret “Marge” Kuth Eppink, 87 of Westfield, peacefully passed away with her family by her side, on Thursday, April 27, 2023. Marge was born August 10, 1935, in Akron, OH to the late Frederick and Elizabeth Kuth. She lived in several locations growing up including Hamilton, OH, Holland, MI and Buffalo, NY where she met a special friend Robert “Bob” Eppink in first grade, whom she later dated and married on November 28, 1957. Marge was a graduate of St. Mary of the Woods College where she played the position of guard on the women’s basketball team.
Bob and Marge settled in Indianapolis and raised their six children. When the family was young, Marge held various jobs including teaching gym class and driving a school bus. They eventually moved to Noblesville in 1978 where Bob started his CPA practice. Marge worked alongside him as his administrative assistant until their retirement.
Marge spent her free time reading, playing in various bridge groups, attending social functions with friends in her condo association and rooting on Notre Dame, IU and Purdue basketball and football teams, as well as the Colts. A visit to her home on a game day when several of her favorite teams were playing was something to behold. A different game was on each television, and she could be seen running from room to room “instructing” the players, referees, and coaches without missing a single play! We are certain she is wearing her Notre Dame sweatshirt in Heaven and reminding God that they are “His team” and could use a little Divine intervention!
Marge was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cicero, IN and most recently St Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Westfield, IN. She volunteered in the food pantry and helped plan parish events including fundraising dinners and auctions. She faithfully said the rosary and attended daily mass frequently. She was a true prayer warrior for so many. Only Heaven knows what an eternal impact her years of faithful praying has had on our family and her friends.
Marge was a generous, spirited, kind-hearted soul whose love for her family was strong and intense. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and her smile was brightest when her house was full. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren with her boundless love and affection.
Marge was the widow of Robert D. Eppink. She is survived by her children, Frank (wife, Kathleen) Eppink, Steve (wife, Melanie) Eppink, Suzi Baker, and Teri (husband, Doug) Fisher, daughters-in-law, Mary Jo Eppink, and Jane Eppink; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and brother, John (wife, Jo) Kuth. She was preceded in death by her sons, Lawrence Eppink, and John Eppink; grandson, Joey Eppink; and brother, William “Skip” Kuth.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, May 2nd at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Rd., Westfield, IN 46074 for visitation from 10:00-11:00am with a funeral Mass of celebration immediately following.
