Margaret Suzanne Kirkpatrick, lovingly known as Suzanne, 91, of Indianapolis, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 13, 2026. She was born on October 12, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents, Clifton and Lillie Mae (Etris) Hanson.
Suzanne was a devoted wife of 56 yrs and a mother to her two daughters, Kim Sloan and Karen Haler.
Suzanne had a love for art. She attended the Herron School of Art for a year and from there she ventured into China painting for several years. She loved flower gardening and spent countless hours creating her own DIY landscaping. She also enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, family gatherings with her sister, Pat Schopp, and her brother-in-law, Earl and several nieces and nephews. Her and Bob also spent several years spending a winter month in Florida with close friends. However, the destination closest to her heart was their family cabin in Ontario, Canada. There, her and Bob created a family legacy and lasting memories.
After her daughters were raised and married, then came the grandchildren. Joel, Rebekah and Abraham. Suzanne then became “Granny”. A trip for the grandchildren to granny and gramps included visiting the Children’s Museum, the mall, MCL Cafeteria and many other stops along the way. Again, more lasting memories were created. After the grandchildren were grown and married then came the 6 great grandchildren Evelyn, Abner, Mavery Jane, McKade Kirkpatrick, Joah and Judah Robert whom she adored
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Kirkpatrick; her parents; and a sister, Betty Jane Hanson.
Visitation for Suzanne will be from 3-5pm on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite) – 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250, with a funeral service immediately following at 5pm. She will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
