Marcy Holmes-Dyer

Marcy Holmes-Dyer, Age 73, of Indianapolis Indiana was called to her eternal home on December 3, 2020. She is survived by her brother Thomas (Connie) Hollowell, two nephews, Richard Scott Hollowell and Michael Shane Hollowell, two nieces, Jamie Lee Jagla and Naomi Hollowell Way and one great-niece, Aspen Amber Way. She is also survived by her two cousins, Carol (David) Smith, Nanci Gluff and her second cousins Christy Self, David Gluff, Laura Torbett and Andrea Odell.

Mrs. Holmes-Dyer was born in Texas and raised in Indiana, the daughter of Lee Holmes and Mary Holmes Daugherty. She attended Ben Davis High School and Ball State University. She enjoyed her years as a Sunday school teacher for her church community. She was always willing to rescue any stray kitten along life’s path and besides caring for her own beloved cats, she took on caring for feral kittens as her mission. She enjoyed visits from her Florida cousins and spoiling them with adventures when possible. Marcy and her late mother were very close and enjoyed many years in each other’s company.

She worked for a period at Indiana Bell Telephone, but her passion was her long career at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield where she eventually retired. Marcy was recognized for her leadership in Customer Service and the kindness and guidance she bestowed on her employees and coworkers. Upon retirement she spent her time volunteering in the local school system, teaching students to read. Marcy maintained good and carrying friendships throughout her life. She enjoyed hosting meals, playing games such as dominos and traveling with her close friends.
