Marc Alan Van Duzer went home to be with God on Saturday, February 20, 2016. Marc was born August 11, 1967 to parents Carol (Naylor) and George “Skip” Van Duzer in Indianapolis, Indiana. Marc was the middle of three boys. He grew up in a sports loving household. Marc wrestled, played football and his favorite sport – baseball. He played and coached baseball at Eagledale Little League. He also coached at Edison Middle School and George Washington High School. Marc married Heidi (Highbaugh) on July 1, 1989. They have two beautiful daughters, Jaclyn and Danielle. He was a dedicated father. He worked briefly for ATA. Marc worked for Speedway United Methodist Child Care for 14 years teaching Bible stories and sharing his passion for Christ. He most recently worked for Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, where he was also a member. Marc helped with the youth group at church and went on several mission trips with them. Marc loved entertaining his ‘fans’ at church by serenading them with Elvis songs. He also loved singing to his wife. Marc was a fantastic father, wonderful husband and devoted friend. Marc loved music, talking sports, and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed quoting lines from his favorite movies with people, talking Dr. Who, Elvis or any of his other passions and bragging about his children. Marc was an avid Chicago White Sox and diehard Chicago Bears fan. Marc was preceded in death by his grandfather Roscoe Naylor, grandparents Thomas and Betty Van Duzer, father-in-law Larry Highbaugh and parents Carol and Skip Van Duzer. Marc is survived by his bride of 26 years Heidi (Highbaugh) Van Duzer, daughters Jaclyn and Danielle, unofficial adopted daughter Cassidy, brothers Michael (Julie) and Mathew (Susan), mother-in-law Carol Highbaugh Chambers, brother-in-law Greg (Rhonda) Highbaugh, sister-in-laws Nancy (Ron) DeMougin and Paula (Tim) Gaddis, several aunts, uncles and cousins, three nephews, five nieces, several great-nephews and great nieces, best friend Will (Bionca) Brown and numerous friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Youth Group or Eagledale Little League.
