Dr. Manuel M. Mencias M.D.

Manuel Martinez Mencias, M.D., died Friday, October 14. The eldest son of Marcelino and Aurelia Mencias, he was born in Manila on September 19, 1938. He graduated from medical school in 1964 and served in both the Philippine and United States Air Force. A loving and devoted husband and father, he enjoyed spending time with his family, a good meal, traveling, golf, woodworking, music, singing and dancing. His kind and generous heart will truly be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Cristeta Barbo Mencias, M.D.; their children Maria Mencias (Jeff) Erickson, Cecilia Mencias, and Noel (Gina) Mencias; his grandchildren Jeremy, Lauren, Ella, and Ana; his brother Mario (Nellie) Mencias; his sister Alodia Mencias; and many cousins.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 20^th at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township at 5463 Kentucky Ave, Indianapolis. Additional visitation will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, October 21^st at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. Funeral mass will begin at 11:30 immediately followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
