Manuel Herbert Freels

Manuel H. Freels, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. Manuel was born July 15, 1924 to Herbert and Florence Freels and they preceded him in death. He was a computer operator for Aero Mayflower Transit Company in Indianapolis. Manuel was a WW II US Navy veteran and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet Sue (Fordyce) Freels; his sons, Steve Freels, Carlos "Jake" Burwell and Danny Burwell, all of Indianapolis, and Russell Burwell of San Clemente, CA; daughters, Carol S. Smith (Don) of Beech Grove, and Marilyn Cummings (Tom) of Indianapolis; a nephew, Ernest Grimes (Connie) of Mooresville and nieces, Nancy Christy and Pat Gastino (Don) of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229 with the Rev. Gary Pitcock officiating. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, August 26, 2011 at the funeral center.
