Manjit Singh Trehan, 62, loving husband and father left this world too soon on October 19th, 2025.
Manjit was an exceptionally kind and thoughtful person who had a gift for making those he loved feel valued and cared for. His family’s happiness and well-being were always his top priority. He was constantly finding ways to make life a little brighter for those around him—whether by fixing a small household nuisance or showing up with a special treat or keepsake inspired by something he’d quietly remembered from a long-ago conversation.
Though naturally reserved, Manjit had an adventurous and curious spirit. Alongside his beloved wife of ten years, Christine, he journeyed across the globe, visiting all seven continents—yes, even Antarctica, which became his favorite destination.
Manjit earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in software engineering from Indiana University, where he went on to build a distinguished 35-year career as a professor and project manager. Never one to remain idle, after retiring from IU he founded his own company, Advent Automation, continuing to pursue his passion for innovation and problem-solving.
When he wasn’t traveling or working on new ventures, Manjit could often be found on the golf course or exploring his creative side through a variety of self-taught art forms, including wood burning, painting, crochet, and music.
The loss of such a kind, talented, and endlessly curious person will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Manjit is survived by his wife Christine Trehan; his children Kevin Trehan (Megan Reynolds), Samantha Petri and Kate Petri; grandchild Scott Petri; sister Satinder Ajmani (Harpinder Ajmani); and niece and nephew Garima Ajmani (Arjun Bahl) and Gaurav Ajmani (Miriam Guzman).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ranbir and Davinder Trehan, and his son, Sukhvin “Vince” Trehan.
Manjit’s memorial services will be Saturday October 25th, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan Memorial Park (9350 E. Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229), beginning at 3pm. Memorial sharing will begin at 4pm.
