Malusa J. Peredo

Little ditty about Malusa J Peredo, she was born on May 13, 1964 to parents Edgar and Patty Peredo. She was incredibly smart and hit the books any chance she got. She was able to graduate from Warren Central High School and, later, graduated from Indiana University where she met lifelong friends. Those friends would end up nearly as family and many future Christmases were spent laughing with them. Malusa later vowed that when she got older she would marry her one true love, John Mellencamp; a man who she followed across state lines any chance she got to see him in concert.  While she did not end up living in a little pink house, Malusa returned to Indianapolis where she raised her daughter, Marisa. As someone who valued education, Malusa was able to turn any moment and family vacation into a learning opportunity. From taking cross-country trips to the Great Plains to study Native American culture, to walking on glaciers in Alaska,  Malusa was adventurous and extroverted . Of course, her collection of John Mellencamp CDs were requirements in her suitcase. While out and about on adventures, she never met a stranger anywhere she went and was always willing to lend a helping hand when the walls came crumbling down. Malusa was a caring, creative individual that lit up the room when she arrived either with her bright smile, infectious laugh, or sassy humor. Malusa was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, cousin, and friend who will be greatly missed. Malusa would not want her family and friends to be sad but rather enjoy life as best as they can and celebrate each day with excitement as if they were standing front row at a  John Mellencamp concert with her.  

After all, "life goes on, long after the thrill of livin' is gone" . 

Malusa is survived by her daughter, Marisa Peredo; brother, Anthony (Amanda) Peredo and nephew, Roy Peredo; several aunts and cousins. 

Malusa was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Patty (Abel) Peredo; uncles, Nelson and Fernando Peredo; uncles Jay, Jack, Roy Abel. 

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Washington Park East Cemetery -- 10722 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making memorial contributions in her name to donor's favorite charity. Another suggestion is that you take your loved ones on a new adventure to create memories of your own while jammin' to your favorite music. Just be sure to make some of the journey educational as Malusa will be taking notes up above.
