Mallorie Nicole Hook, 32, of Carmel, IN, passed away Sunday, October 15th. She was born in Indianapolis on September 23, 1991, to Ken and Kathleen (McMahon) Hook.
Mallorie graduated from Guerin Catholic High School and attended Ball State University. Mallorie expressed her artistic passion through her career as a talented cosmetologist and make-up artist. Mallorie freely gave her skills and time to help elderly and terminal patients. She was adored and appreciated in her craft by clients and friends.
Mallorie had a special perspective and love for life. She enjoyed spending time in nature, hiking in the mountains, visiting national parks, and traveling to new places. Mallorie lived life with an amazing ability to always see the best in everyone and made you the center of her attention even in the briefest encounter. She thought of others first and made an impact on so many people. The best thing about Mallorie was her extraordinary sense of humor that served as a strength for her family during tough times. Mallorie has now returned to the nature she loved.
Mallorie lives on in the hearts of her parents Ken and Kathleen, fiancé Stephen, siblings Michael and Diva, McKenna and Carlos, Matthew and Delaney, nieces Valentina and Magnolia, maternal grandparents Pat and Lena McMahon, paternal grandparents Tom and Molly Hook and Joan and Dan Diefenbacher, a large and loving family, and countless friends.
It is impossible to summarize Mallorie’s life in a few paragraphs and how much she meant to the people who loved her. The artist, animal lover, life of the party, adventure seeker, and free spirit, will never be forgotten by her loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, Mallorie would like new blankets and socks to be donated for cancer patients. She started sharing the abundance of gifts she received during her initial stay with other patients. Her mission since has been to provide comfort to those still fighting the disease. You can read her story at https://iuhealth.org/thrive/she-was-hospitalized-for-a-month-and-now-gives-back-to-others. Donations may be dropped off at the Celebration of Life party or any time at the family's home.
