Mae F. Hoggatt, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, at the remarkable age of 100.

Mae was born on January 4, 1925, in Rosedale, Indiana, to her beloved parents, John and Lillie Engle. She was united in marriage to Richard E. Hoggatt in 1950, and they shared a loving marriage until his passing in 2006.

Mae was known for her kind heart, devotion to family, sense of humor and generosity. Throughout her life, she enjoyed reading, playing UNO with her family, crocheting, competing in the State Fair, watching the Chicago Cubs, attending church service, volunteering for local organizations and was deeply devoted to her friends. She loved to travel, collect and make fresh meals from the garden.

She is survived by her children, Anne Jackson (Tom), David Hoggatt, Jim Hoggatt (Christy) and Mary Secrest (Joel), her grandchildren, Leslie Hoggatt, Lindsay Cross (Jared) and Kelsey Hoggatt.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Hoggatt, parents John and Lillie, and sister Lois Brobst.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM, at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, located at 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229.

The burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in Mae’s memory.

Mae's strength, warmth, and wisdom touched the lives of many, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
