Madeline Wylie Clark, 99 of Zionsville, Indiana passed awayon May 21st, 2016.
Madeline was born on August 16, 1916 in Bloomington, Indianato the late Redick and Thana Wylie. She received her bachelor’s degree from IUin 1937 and later returned to receive her master’s degree which lead her intoher career as a teacher. Madeline finished her teaching career in the 1960’sretiring from Broad Ripple High School. She was a longtime member of OrchardPark Presbyterian Church, member of the Shepherd Center in Zionsville, PEO, andThe Red Hat Society. Madeline was a great artist, she loved to make ceramics,jewelry, drawings and paintings, she loved to travel and lead a long andfulfilled life. She took pride in being the granddaughter of the first presidentof Indiana University, Andrew Wylie.
Madeline is survived by her son, Redick Horton, step-son,Terry Clark, granddaughter, Ulrike (Renato) Lasic, grandson, Andreas (Kathrin)Horton, granddaughter Meredith (Robert) Benedix, granddaughter Bridget ( Antonio)Candelmo and great-grandchildren; Marius, Anna-Lena, Maximillian, Philipp,Israel, William, Benjamin, Henry, Tristan, Zoi and Hali. She is preceded indeath by her first husband Jack Horton, who passed away in 1949 and also hersecond husband Virgil Clark in 1976, her parents, sister, Louise (Robert)Campbell, brother, Andrew (Elizabeth) Wylie and daughter in law Carolyn Clark.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Saturday, May28, from 1-3pm at the Hoosier Village Chapel and a memorial service will followat 3pm. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan- Zionsville.
