Madeline A. (Hadley) Hunsicker

Madeline (Hadley) Hunsicker passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on September 28th at the age of 85 years. She is survived by her eight children; Kathy Hunsicker, Patti (Greg) Wertz, Beth (Tom) Johnson, Steve (Penny) Hunsicker, Bill (Lupae) Hunsicker, Tom (Kathy) Hunsicker, Sue (Bill) Ripberger and Dan Hunsicker. Madeline was preceded in death by two sons, Rob and Michael John Hunsicker, her sisters; Mary Patricia Driscroll and Kathleen Greiwe, and brothers; Walter, William and Thomas Hadley.

Madeline (Maddie) was born on February 21, 1932 to the late Walter and Magdalene Hadley. Born in Cincinnati Ohio, Maddie graduated from Summit High School and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Dayton, Ohio. She worked at Mercy Hospital as an emergency room nurse for over 30 years.

Maddie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Maddie dedicated her life to serving others, exemplifying the grace of Jesus Christ in everything she did. Her heart for people went beyond family and borders. After Maddie graduated from Calvary Chapel Bible College, she went on mission trips to Guatemala and the Ukraine, and then continued serving others in her community at Horizon Christian Fellowship. Maddie will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her sense of humor, her wonderful cooking, her love for Graeter’s ice cream, and above all her dedication to her Lord Jesus.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bickford of Carmel for the exemplary care and compassion for Maddie, we are so very grateful.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 21st from 12 pm – 1 pm with a Celebration of Life service starting at 1pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. The family requests donations in-lieu of flowers be sent to Horizon Christian Fellowship.
