Mable Irene Wood

Mable Irene Wood 86, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2013. Mable was born in Bloomfield, Indiana on May 20, 1926 to the late Charley and Celestia Loleta Robinson. During her career Mable worked in the Payroll department at Metro. Mable's many joys of life were gardening, quilting and the company of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 3 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her brother, Dale Robinson; sisters, Margie Turner and Jenny Cook; daughters, Terry Burks, Sherry Schwartz (Ron), Judy Burks (Mickie Jackey), and Brenda Roberts; grandchildren, Christopher Phillips, Ashley Wood, and Chelsea Jackey; great grandchildren, Spencer Reid-Phillips, Alli Nicholes, Mekhi Cornett, Shawn Jones, Sawyer Jackey, Hunter and Gunner Meloy and a host of relatives and friends. Friends may call Friday, April 5, 2013 from 12 p.m.-3 p.m. in Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park North , 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46228. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Washington Park North Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society .
