Mable Bryant Wilson

July 9, 1930 — May 4, 2014

Mable Bryant Wilson, 83 of Indianapolis passed away on May 4, 2014. She was born in Breathitt Co., KY to Nelson and Edna Bryant. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. Mable was an enthusiastic walker who enjoyed walking in the historical Irvington area almost daily. One of her greatest pleasures in life was attending big family parties where the 'Bryant Girls" which included her "mommy" and 5 sisters joined in a circle and danced (stomped) for hours. Her favorite music was country but she would dance and sing to all music. Mable had a fabulous sense of style and didn't believe you could arrive too early or be overdressed for any occasion. Mable was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters Margaret Graves and Maxine Combs; two brothers Nelson Bryant Jr and Luther Bryant. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children; Charles Johnson (Diane), Doug Johnson (Peggy), Joy York (Dan) and Karen Johnson; sisters, Juanita Gillenwater, Julia Gillenwater and Kathryn Bowman. Also, 9 grandchildren; Sandra Dee, Stacey, Christina, Lindsey, Karen, Derek, Melissa, Elisha and Matthew; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her children's father, Elisha Johnson and former spouse, Franklin R. Wilson.
