Lynne W. Arnold

Lynne W. Arnold, 69, of Carmel and formerly of Santa Fe, NM passed away July 29, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. She was born July 10, 1952, in Indianapolis, the daughter of the late Robert F. Waddell and Nancy (Grubb) Ahlers.

It would be wrong to say that Lynne lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. She was determined and steadfast, when others may have broken, Lynne stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.

Lynne attended North Central High School, before continuing her education at Indiana University as a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

Lynne was a woman of many talents and skills but found her calling as a Real Estate Broker in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which ignited a passion for designing custom homes. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Lynne. Her love of travel took her on journeys around the world, exploring cultures from the inside out. Lynne will be remembered as an uplifting, passionate and generous person, who was a light to everyone she touched. She loved her family fiercely and was a loving and devoted mother. She especially enjoyed her role as Grammy, to her one-year-old granddaughter Ryan.

She is survived by her two children, Keely Washburn and John (Jordan) Washburn; granddaughter, Ryan Washburn; her brother, Scott (Kathy) Waddell; two step-siblings, Steve Bone and Barbara (Craig) Murray; and her half-sister, Kathy (Jim) Brown.  She was preceded in passing by her husband, John P. Arnold, Jr.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she reached but never met.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 19th at Mustard Seed Gardens from 4pm to 7pm.
