Dr. Lynn Guse, 84 of Franklin, Indiana, formerly of Greenfield, Indiana, died on April 1, 2014. He was born in 1929 on a farm near Wanatah, Indiana. Dr. Guse was a 1951 graduate from the School of Agriculture in Purdue University and earned a Ph.D. degree from Purdue in1962. He was a two year Army veteran of the Korean War as a combat engineer and was stationed in Korea from February 1952 to July 1953. He taught vocational agriculture at Crawfordsville High School from 1954 to 1959. Dr. Guse was a research scientist and administrator for 28 years with the plant science division of Eli Lilly & Co. with assignments in both the U.S. and varied international locations. He was a member of and filled various roles at Old Bethel United Methodist Church and was a member of the Indianapolis Aero Club. He traveled extensively throughout his professional career and later during retirement and visited all the continents.
Dr. Guse is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne in late 2000, his son Dr. Robert Guse in 2008 and his brother, Howard Guse. Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Karen (Jim) Zwick, Cathy (Stephen) Rogier and Dale (Linda) Guse, daughter in law, Nancy Guse and 10 grandchildren.
